Q. How do I install the server components of Vitę?
A. Normally the server components will be installed by a Vitę consultant,
however if you wish to install them yourself, simply follow the guidelines on
the CD.
Q. How do I install the client components of Vitę?
A. All you need to do is run the Vitę Bootstrap program located in the Vitę
Setup share on your server. Once this is run you will be prompted to select the
location of the client, which is in the Client subfolder of the Vitę Setup
share. The client will now install and run. Should the server version later be
upgraded, the client will automatically upgrade.
Q. Can I run Vitę on more machines?
A. Please refer to the licensing section.
Q. How do the Version numbers work?
A. The first digit of the version number denotes the major revision. Major
revisions happen around once every year and a half and contain significant
enhancements. The second digit denotes the minor revision. Minor revisions
occur roughly quarterly and contain some enhancements. Finally the third digit
denotes the revision number. This is incremented for each hotfix, although
service packs will increment this by 100 each time.
Q. Are new versions free?
A. Please refer to the licensing section.
Q. If I find a bug, how long will it take to fix?
A. Normally bugs are fixed and a hotfix released within 24 hours, however,
more complex problems may take longer.
Q. If I require more functionality, will you build it in?
A. Please make all suggestions to the Vitę support email. We will try and
include and suggestions for product improvements we can for following versions
and will let you know of the likely timescales.
